Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team joined Thad Bell for the first episode of The Blue Turf for the upcoming 2023-24 MASL season. The Comets have a new coach in Stefan Stokic and we talk about what that means for the Comets. There will be some differences in style from last year and high expectations.

Both Erik and Thad have watched some practice and we talk about who is in camp. There are new a lot of new faces and of course, a lot of returning players. We give our expectations for who will be signed or may not be back. With four keepers in camp there will be battles for playing time and maybe even making the roster. We also discuss which positions are set and which spot needs more depth.

Stick around after Erik and Thad finish for an interview with new defender Chad Vandegriffe. New to the Comets but not new in the league. Vandegriffe has been a defender of the year and on the MASL Best Six team. He will be a big part of strengthening the back line for Kansas City. Vandegriffe talks about coming to the Comets, his first impressions, and looking forward to playing at home in front of the Kansas City crowd. Vandegriffe has played for Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Florida.
