Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Comets Woeful Overtime Stretch



On Friday night the Kansas City Comets dropped a loss one to the Chihuahua Savage 3-2 in overtime at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence. It was Kansas City’s fourth overtime game of the season. The Comets have lost all four of their overtime games. Since the 2015-2016 season, the Comets have gone to overtime 33 times, they’ve won just seven of those 33 games.

Here are stats and milestones from the game.


Since the start of the 2015-2016 MASL season, the Comets are 7-26 in games that have gone to overtime (15-29 overall). That streak includes five different head coaches: Vlatko Andonovski (2-3 in that stretch, 6-4 overall), Goran Karadzov (0-1), Kim Rontved’s 2nd tenure (0-4 in that stretch, 4-6 overall), Leo Gibson (5-14), and Stefan Stokic (0-4).

Ray Lee made his 90th appearance in all competitions, breaking his tie with Adam James for 16th all time on that list.

Zach Reget scored his 36th league goal for KC, tying him with Kevin Ellis for 18th all time on that list.

It was Reget’s 36th in all competitions for KC, tying him with James Togbah for 20th all time on that list.

Nicolau Neto made his 73rd appearance in league play, tying him with Mirko Sandivari for 18th all time on that list.

KC Indoor

Ramone Palmer made his 180th league appearance for KC indoor teams, tying him with Tasso Koutsoukos for 20th all time on that list.

The loss was Nicolau Neto’s 31st in league play, breaking his tie with Chris Damico for 7th all time on that list.

The loss was Neto’s 36th in all competitions, tying him with Scoop Stanisic for 5th all time on that list.
