Across State Lines: Sanchez, Medranda Advance to MLS Cup

Published

on

Ilie Sanchez

MLS is down to the final two teams this year in the playoffs with the Columbus Crew and Los Angeles FC advancing to MLS Cup this coming weekend. Two former Sporting Kansas City players are on the teams that have qualified. The first is Ilie Sanchez, who has been a regular starter for LAFC, appearing in all 34 games this year, starting 31. He’s also played every minute of LAFC’s four playoff games this year. The other is Jimmy Medranda with the Crew. Medranda has not see a ton of time this year for Columbus, playing in just 10 league games, none of them starts, and just 96 minutes in MLS play. He also has not appeared so far in the playoffs for Columbus, though he has been available off the bench in each game.
