Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the latest episode of The Blue Turf the day after Christmas. We were at our usual spot at the “World Famous” Kansas City Soccer Dome to watch practice, talk about the Kansas City Comets, and MASL.

The Comets were able to take some time off for the holidays, which allowed some of the other teams in the league to catch up on the number of games played. Most of the team have now played three or four matches and we can start to see some trends. It is still early but we discuss what we have learned about the rest of the league so far this season. Erik tells us about one of his Christmas presents. We of course discuss facing the Ambush again for a pair of games.

Coach Stokic joins for the second segment of the pod. Coach gives an injury update on several players (Berry, Sousa, Lenis and Ramirez). We also talk about what it means to lose Marcel Berry for the season. Goalie competition is fierce and the coach talks about that. Stokic is asked about how some of the other teams are doing, continuing to work Malhue into the team, and more.
