Sporting KC ended the 2025 season on Saturday night at Children’s Mercy Park in a 0-0 draw with the Houston Dynamo. The game brings to a close arguably the worst season in the club’s history. Certainly the worst season since the club rebranded from the Kansas City Wizards to Sporting KC. Here are the stats and milestones from the game along with some from over the course of the season.

Sporting KC ended the 2025 season 4-8-5 at home. Of the 17 home games, KC held the lead in only 7 of them. In those 7 games, KC led for a total of 177 minutes. Those 177 minutes leading account for just 12% of the total minutes KC played at home in 2025. Of those 177 minutes, 77 of them came in the game against the LA Galaxy where Sporting didn’t take a single shot, scoring their lone goal on an own goal. Those 77 minutes accounted for 44% of KC’s time leading. Overall, Kansas City played almost 50% of their minutes at home (754) in 2025 down at least a goal.

The 28 points KC earned is the second fewest in club history.

The shutout was Kansas City’s first since May 17th against San Diego FC. It was the first time since July 19th against New York City FC that KC allowed fewer than 2 goals (a span of 10 games).

John Pulskamp finished playing every minute in league play for KC. He became the 6th player to play every minute of the 34 game season. The first player to do so since Tim Melia, Graham Zusi, and Ilie Sanchez did it in the 2018 season.

Pulskamp became the 7th player to start all 34 league games in a season for KC. He’s the 1st player to do that since Remi Walter in 2022.

Jansen Miller ended the season with 2,305 minutes played. That’s the most by a Sporting KC SuperDraft pick in their first season since Michael Harrington played 2,422 minutes in the 2007 season. It’s the third most in a single season by a SuperDraft rookie* after Harrington and Nick Garcia in 2000 (2,916 minutes).

    • Kerry Zavagnin played 2,743 minutes in the 2000 season after being selected in the SuperDraft but had previously played professionally with the MetroStars, Long Island Rough Riders, and Lehigh Valley Steam.

Daniel Salloi made his 200th start in MLS competitions, he’s the 11th player to reach that mark.

Making his 200th start in MLS competitions broke his tie with Chris Klein for 11th all time for KC.

It was Salloi’s 217th start in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Klein for 11th all time on that list.

Salloi made his 255th appearance in MLS competitions, tying him with Davy Arnaud for 6th all time on that list.

Khiry Shelton made his 175th appearance in MLS competitions, tying him with Benny Feilhaber for 15th all time on that list.
