Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Salloi’s 200th Start

In a match on Sunday where Sporting KC set an MLS record for winning a game without a single shot there was also a major milestone in club history reached as well with winger Daniel Salloi making his 200th start in all competitions. The 1-0 win over the LA Galaxy was Kansas City’s third win in the last five since Kerry Zavagnin took over for Peter Vermes.

Here are the stats and milestones from Sunday’s game along with Friday night’s Sporting KC II game that Sporting lost 7-6 after a 0-0 draw in regulation.

Sporting KC

Sporting became the 1st team in MLS history to win a game without recording a shot.

It was KC’s 1st 1-0 win 9/16/2023 on the road against Minnesota United (596 days). It was their 1st 1-0 home win since 7/31/2023 against Chivas in Leagues Cup (643 days). It was KC’s 1st 1-0 home league win since 8/27/2022 against the San Jose Earthquakes (981 days).

Daniel Salloi made his 200th start in all competitions for KC. He’s the 12th player to reach that mark.

Logan Ndenbe made his 50th start in league play for KC, he’s the 68th player to reach that mark.

Tim Leibold made his 50th league appearance for KC, he’s the 86th player to reach that mark.

Sporting KC II

It was KC’s first shutout of the season. It was also only the second time in eight league games so far this season that KC has allowed fewer than three goals.

Nati Clarke made his 56th appearance in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Parker Maher, Nansel Selbol, and Tyler Pasher for 11th all time on that list.

Clarke made his 43rd league start for KC, tying him with Pasher for 13th all time on that list.

It was his 44th start in all competitions, tying him with John Pulskamp for 14th all time on that list.
