Sporting KC and Sporting KC II both picked up a point this weekend in home draws. Sporting tied the Seattle Sounders 1-1 on a Dejan Joveljic goal on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Sporting KC II took on the Tacoma Defiance in an MLS Next Pro match up. Shane Donovan scored both goals for KC in the 2-2 draw. SKCII fell in the shootout, 4-2 to Tacoma. Stefan Cleveland became the 13th player to make their league debut for KC. This is tied for the most in a single season outside the club’s first in 1996.

Johann Ortiz made his 26th substitute appearance in league play, breaking his tie with Nansel Selbol for the most all time for the club.

In the 3rd minute, Shane Donovan passed Parker Maher and moved into 20th all time for league minutes played for SKCII. He finished the game with 3,618 minutes played.

Donovan made his 40th league start for KC, tying him with Sebastian Cruz for 19th all time on that list.

It was Donovan’s 41st start in all competitions, tying him with Cruz for 20th all time on that list.
