Contributor- I am a lifelong Kansas Citian (albeit on the outskirts) and have always been a KC sports fanatic, but my love of soccer started much later in life. I attended my first Sporting KC match in 2015 after watching a few matches on TV. I became a season ticket member in 2016 and haven't looked back! I work full-time as an elementary school teacher in the Northland.

I’m trying to understand something. Someone, please help me. Why has Eric Thommy not been starting?

Josh Wallace

So when he was starting on the left, he wasn’t effective. And that honestly has always been the case when he plays on the left. I remember when PV had him in the midfield they had to move him to the right central midfield because he was getting Salloi’s space. Then, although he is more effective on the right, he just isn’t more effective than Shapi is so no reason to start him. I think he’s best coming off the bench against tired legs and running at people. It’s a massive reason he has 2 goals and 2 assists on the season.

Josh Wallace

Three minutes in, I really like Brody’s positioning at right back.

First half, I will give SKC credit that defense has bent but not broken. They have been absolutely up against it all half long.

Wet water

They won without taking a shot. It’s the kind of ridiculousness that they would have been on the other end of under PV. Words fail.

They would have lost under Vermes. I don’t think he ever included “How to clear balls from your penalty area” in his training plan. Also, they seem to be getting more comfortable playing in tight spaces with the ball. They don’t quite have enough quality to finish off moves, but at least they don’t recycle balls constantly to the centerbacks when they have it in the final third. And Pulskamp should have been MoM.

I’ll take the 3 points and hope they add some quality up front and at CB in the next window.

We set a record that can’t be broken. We were the first to win a match having never taken a shot. No one can out do us.

im happy with KZ ball, except they need to improve passing a lot. Regardless, we win.
