Are they playing three at the back tonight?

David

Place is empty as hell

David Greenwald

Usually is for the USOC. Until you get to the really meaningful games in later rounds. Even when the team was good the stands were empty for ccl and USOC.

David

Wouldn’t be a game if Pete didn’t have a young player out of position

Howlie2

Anyone else sorta jump, cringe, gasp when Kinda takes any contact?

David

Jesus

InToTouch

Pulskamp probably should have seen red there

MisterMurse

Had the touch been closer to goal and more controlled absolutely. Luckily the touch was to the corner (from what I recall)

kcrews123

That ball from Tulsa was beautiful

David

Always good that the back line almost fumbled a ball to a semipro team

Jacie20

I feel like if they can’t score in the first 45 I will officially lose hope for the rest of the season. How ridiculous is this.

kcrews123

Sucks for Tulsa. That ball should have been saved

David

Ok aly…..let’s take the drama down a bit.

“Salloi further solidfying his name in the history books”.

We are playing a semi pro team

David Greenwald

This game sucks. We look inept against a semi pro team

kcrews123

Yeah we don’t look too great. I honestly don’t want us to win, because:
1. The season is looking to be a bust, and I really don’t feel like hearing Vermes talk about our run in the Open Cup making this a successful season
2. I want anything that can lead to Vermes’ position in the organization to be questioned to happen, so a loss to a semi-pro team would definitely add fuel to the fire
3. I always like the underdog story, and what better time to root for the underdog than when you want your team to lose?

David Greenwald

Eh. I hear you but I can’t ever root against SKC.

kcrews123

I wouldn’t any other time, but this season is much different. The organization needs something to start waking them up, or there isn’t going to be any change.

I get it. I just can’t bring myself to root against them

I feel the same way! I like drama, and I wanted to see how it would play out if Sporting lost. Would it cause any drama within the organization? I’m wondering, at this point, what the tipping point would be for someone to get fired.
Also, as Aly and Jake were sharing the stories about Tulsa Athletics, I thought it’d be a cool story in their journey if they beat us. Imagine how different the game could have been if they scored on the PK.
I’m not mad they won because the players deserve a glimmer of hope.

kcrews123

I have a gut feeling that they could have pulled out the 1-0 had they made the PK. It would have been a ton of bunkering and probably a lot of chaos in the box for the rest of the game, but I think they would have pulled it off

At the game, probably about 40% capacity. Cauldron is fairly sparse. Vermes did not get a single cheer during lineup announcements. At times the group of about 30 Tulsa supporters have been louder than Sporting fans. But my season tickets are in south stand so it’s def. louder from my vantage point. Pulskamp was lucky to not get carded but immediately redeemed himself with the save. Salloi a little lucky to score. Plenty of shots but too many right at the keeper, we’ve gotta start finding the corners of the net! But nice to be on top for once at half.

MisterMurse

Nah, they were louder on the broadcast and during lapses of cauldron chants as well. Their fans brought it.

InToTouch

Pulskamp was lucky as hell to save that penalty. It was poorly taken and he guessed correctly

Jacie20

Must be saving Shelton for Saturday……………………

MisterMurse

I cry because it is probably true

SportsChum

He’s such a stud

Tatito

Is this what games are supposed to feel like?! What is this winning feeling? Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not in with vermes, but I’ll take a win of any sort.
