For the Glory KC is back with the 45th episode of the show and it’s a weird one. No co-host, just me talking to myself. If that sounds like something you’d like to listen to, give it a go.
On this week’s episode, Sporting Kansas City beat the best team in Mexico in the Leagues Cup (and were a 96th minute handball away from beating the best team in MLS). That said, how much of that was the schedule finally favoring Sporting KC for the first time in a long time? I definitely think it was a factor with the short rest for Chivas, which was compounded by their game against FC Cincinnati being delayed the better part of a day due to the weather.
But it’s not all pessimism (I think it was a resounding performance overall). Plus, injury updates on Tim Melia, Willy Agada and Graham Zusi are forthcoming.
The ladies can’t be left out though! The KC Current were back in action and their injury woes continue. They had a chance to almost lock down a spot in the semi-finals of the UKG Challenge Cup but instead give the Chicago Red Stars their first point of the whole tournament (here is that chart I referenced). Plus, the United States squeak their way out of the group stage, and I give a first-hand account of the action in Auckland, New Zealand.
Don’t worry y’all, Sheena will be back next week.
