Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the latest episode of The Blue Turf for the 2023-24 season. This time it was not at the now “World Famous” Kansas City Soccer Dome. Weather and schedules kept us both away.

Erik and Thad discuss the win over Harrisburg with Leo Gibson earning his first points of the season. We explain why star forward Zach Reget was not called up to the U.S., Soccer Futsal camp this time. Also, a topic is the three-star voting and why Nacho Flores should have more love from the local media.

Next up the Comets face Utica on Friday the 12th before going on the road in Mexico at Monterrey on the 14th and 16th and then Chihuahua on the 19th. Not an easy stretch for Kansas City but we discuss who might go on the road trip.

After the first pod segment with Erik, Thad has a second pod segment with Kansas City head coach Stefan Stokic. Coach Stokic talks about the win, and preparing for the upcoming matches. At home against Utica and then a three-game road trip to Mexico. Coach gives an update on availability of Rian and Berto.
