Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Comets Fall in Game One

Published

on

The Kansas City Comets kicked off the Ron Newman Cup Final series on Sunday at Cable Dahmer Arena. A tight battle with the Chihuahua Savage led to a 4-3 loss as the Savage scored the final three goals to take the 1-0 series lead to Mexico for the second leg tomorrow. To win the series, it’ll be an uphill battle for KC as they’ll have to win game two and then the game three mini game to win the trophy. In doing so they’ll have to accomplish two things and each thing has only been accomplished by one team this season. They’ll have to win a game in Chihuahua’s Corner Sports Arena, where the Savage have only lost to one team this season, the Monterrey Flash. If they do in fact beat Chihuahua, they’d also be only the second US based team to win a game in Mexico this season, as the only other team to win there was the Milwaukee Wave, who topped Monterrey in Monterrey in the playoffs to knock the Flash out of the playoffs.

Here are the stats and milestones from Sunday’s game.
