When the Kansas City Comets named former player and assistant coach Stefan Stokic as the newest head coach, it did not come as a surprise. Stokic is an experienced player and coach and has been a part of the Comets since their return in 2010. The Comets recently held an open tryout, have been signing and re-signing players, and are busy preparing for the 2023=24 MASL season.

Thad Bell from the KC Soccer Journal sat down with new head coach Stefan Stokic to learn what Kansas City fans can expect. Stokic talks about what it means to be the head coach of Kansas City, the mentality he expects from the Comets, and some of his plans and expectations without giving away too much. He is asked about the forwards, the defenders, the keepers, and if Leo Gibson will return as a player.

As a stand-alone interview, this pod is part of a new series of interviews with players, coaches, and other interesting, soccer-related people. The new series is tentatively named One Shots. If you have a better name, please let us know.
