Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Milestones from a Disappointing Night at Children’s Mercy Park

Published

on

It was a disappointing end to the night at Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday night as Sporting KC conceded three goals in an eight minute stretch to go from leading 2-0 and looking quite comfortable while doing it, to down 3-2 and struggling to find the game. Peter Vermes adjusted the team coming into the game with injuries seeing him line KC up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Alan Pulido dropping into more of an attacking midfield role instead of the number nine position that fans have come to expect from the Mexican forward. Nemanja Radoja and Willy Agada both found the net for the first time this season, Radoja finding it for the first time in a Sporting uniform.

Here are the stats and milestones from Saturday night’s loss.

Sporting KC

Tim Melia made his 237th appearance in league play for KC, tying him with Kerry Zavagnin for 5th all time on that list.

Daniel Salloi’s 2 assists gave him 38 assists in MLS competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Davy Arnaud for 7th all time on that list.

Salloi made his 219th appearance in all competitions, breaking his tie with Jack Jewsbury for 12th all time on that list.

Salloi made his 147th start in league play for KC, tying him with Benny Feilhaber and Johnny Russell for 12th all time on that list.
