The Kansas City Comets clinched a holiday sweep of the St. Louis Ambush on Sunday afternoon in St. Charles, taking down the Ambush 6-5 on the back of a three goal, two assist performance from Comets’ forward, Zach Reget. The Comets were held scoreless in a quarter for the first time in the 2023-2024 season in the first quarter. They’d scored in the previous 24 quarters (26 in the regular season dating back to last year).

Lee made his 82nd appearance in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Mirko Sandivari for 17th all time on that list.

Zach Reget’s hattrick was his 4th in league play for KC, tying him with John Sosa and Kevin Ellis for 6th all time on that list.

It was Reget’s 4th hattrick in all competitions, tying him with Sosa, Ellis, and Lucas Rodriguez for 6th all time on that list as well.

It was Reget’s 3rd hattrick of the season, Reget is the 1st player other than Leo Gibson to record 3 or more hattricks since Max Touloute recorded 3 in league play and 4 in all competitions in the 2015-2016 season.

Reget’s 2 assists gave him 17 in league play for KC, tying him with Milan Ivanovic for 18th all time on that list.

The 2 assists gave Reget 17 in all competitions for KC as well, tying him with Tiguinho for 20th all time on that list.

KC Indoor

John Sosa made his 230th appearance in league play for KC indoor teams, tying him with Dave Boncek for 10th all time on that list.

Nicolau Neto recorded his 36th league win for KC, tying him with Scoop Stanisic for 5th all time on that list in KC indoor history.

Neto recorded his 42nd win in all competitions for KC, tying him with Stanisic for 4th all time in KC indoor history.

Lee’s 2nd goal, as his 50th in all competitions, made his the 56th player among KC indoor soccer teams to score 50 goals in all competitions.
