On Saturday night at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Sporting KC drew the largest crowd in the teams history, setting all kinds of records in their 3-2 loss to Inter Miami. Here are the attendance stats and milestones along with all the others from the game Saturday.

The attendance of 72,610 was the most ever for a Sporting KC game beating the old record of 67,523 set 2/27/22 at Atlanta United. It was the most people to attend a KC home game in league play (32,867, vs LA Galaxy 9/27/07) or all time (52,424, vs Manchester United 7/25/10). It was the most people to attend a soccer game in Kansas City (52,424 KC vs Manchester United 7/25/10). It was the highest attended soccer game in the history of the state of Missouri (54,184, Real Madrid vs Inter Milan 8/10/13 at The Dome at America’s Center, St. Louis).

The attendance of 72,610 is the 3rd largest attendance for a stand alone MLS regular season game (meaning not part of an international or club double header). Only LA Galaxy vs LAFC at the Rose Bowl (82,110, 7/4/23) and Charlotte FC vs LA Galaxy (74,479, 3/5/22) have drawn more. It became the 4th largest attended stand alone MLS game including playoffs as MLS Cup 2018 between Atlanta United and the Portland Timbers drew 73,019.

Sporting has allowed 3 goals in 3 consecutive league home games for the first time since 2014 when they lost 3-0 to DC, 3-1 to Houston, and 3-2 to New England. They’ve allowed 9 goals in their last 3 league games for the first time since 2019 2-2 vs New York, 4-4 vs New England, 0-3 vs Atlanta.

Tim Melia made his 273rd appearance in all competitions, tying him with Nick Garcia and Davy Arnaud for 5th all time on that list.

Melia made his 256th appearance in MLS competitions, breaking his tie with Arnaud for 5th all time on that list.

Melia made his 240th appearance in league play, tying him with Arnaud for 4th all time on that list.

Melia made his 273rd start in all competitions, breaking his tie with Garcia for 5th all time on that list.

Daniel Salloi made his 200th appearance in MLS competitions, he’s the 13th player to reach that mark.

Salloi made his 150th league start for KC, he’s the 12th player to reach that mark.

Salloi made his 161st start in MLS competitions, breaking his tie with Johnny Russell for 12th all time on that list.

In the 60th minute, Andreu Fontas became the 27th player in club history to play 10,000 minutes in MLS competitions.

Erik Thommy made his 50th league start for KC, he’s the 64th player to reach that mark.

Felipe Hernandez made his 44th substitute appearance in all competitions, tying him with Soony Saad and Teal Bunbury for 11th all time on that list.

It was his 43rd substitute appearance in MLS competitions, tying him with Khiry Shelton for 8th all time on that list.

It was Hernandez’s 40th appearance in league play for KC, tying him with Shelton for 10th all time on that list.
