Across State Lines: Myers Promoted to Technical Director in Nashville

The MLS season is getting closer, and as it does, teams are making changes to their technical staff. A few of those changes have involved former Kansas City players moving up with their organization or moving to a new one. The biggest move is former Sporting KC player, Chance Myers, who this week was named the new Technical Director at Nashville SC. Myers, who started as a scout for Nashville moves up from his position as Director of Player Personnel to take his new position with Nashville. Another former player with KC ties also earned a promotion with Nashville. Former Swope Park Rangers defender, Liam Doyle has moved from being Director of Soccer Operations for Nashville’s MLS Next Pro side, Huntsville City FC, to take the same position with the MLS side for the 2024 season.

Another former player joining a new technical staff is former Sporting KC midfielder, Alex Martinez, who has joined the staff of DC United as an assistant coach under new head coach, Troy Lesesne. Martinez had previously been an assistant coach with the Birmingham Legion in the USL Championship.

Finally, today it was announced that a former Kansas City player is officially on the move back to Europe as Nicholas Gioacchini is headed to Italy to play with Como 1907 in the Italian Serie B. The transfer from St. Louis City is for a reported $2 million that could reach $4 million with add-ons in the end.
