Sporting KC’s Wednesday night game against Real Salt Lake at Children’s Mercy Park continued what is becoming one of the worst seasons in the club’s history. Sporting going forward had their moments and looked dangerous but mistakes and giveaways combined with some porous defending allowed Salt Lake to take the 4-3 win in Kansas City. It puts Kansas City in the position of having just won one of their last thirteen games in league play. Sporting is off the foot of the Western Conference and MLS only because the San Jose Earthquakes lost at home against the Portland Timbers 2-1 on Wednesday night as well. Here are the stats and milestones from Wednesday night’s game.

Tim Melia made his 282nd start in all competitions, breaking his tie with Kerry Zavagnin for 4th all time on that list.

Johnny Russell made his 180th start in all competitions, breaking his tie with Daniel Salloi for 12th all time on that list.

Willy Agada’s 2 goals gave him 14 in league play at home for KC, tying him with Jimmy Conrad and Alan Pulido for 14th all time on that list.

The 2 goals gave him 15 in all competitions for KC, tying him with Pulido and Igor Simutenkov for 17th all time on that list.

Nemanja Radoja made his 50th appearance in all competitions for KC, he’s the 91st player to reach that mark.

Khiry Shelton made his 48th substitute appearance in MLS competitions, breaking his tie with Jacob Peterson for 6th all time on that list.
