Lots of rotation. No Dejan (birth of his first child).

KC don’t look effective going forward really, but they are holding their own defensively.

I’m not loving that Miller picked up a yellow in the 9th minute. Long time to play on a yellow and a sloppy field where a slip could screw you.

Why is Joveljic not even on the bench? Late scratch?

birth of child

What’s more important, chasing an elusively close chance to be eliminated early from the playoffs or a kid??? This guy and his priorities…

“beating a team that i didn’t realize was in the MLS…”

I am pleasantly surprised by Munoz. He looks sharp and has great hold-up play thus far.

jdkus11

Just turned it on and saw the collision with Garcia and Lozano. That didn’t look good at all. I hope they’re both able to keep playing.

Josh Wallace

Thommy has to be more involved and effective. I don’t think he has got on the ball and driven forward one time this half.

jdkus11

Feels like San Diego fans are upset with every single call from the ref. Surprising they’re so loud with so many empty seats.

1st half thoughts:
#SportingKC don’t have much going forward
– The field looks rough
– Lozano should be in the book (studs on Leibold, pulled down Miller and delayed a restart)
– Most of SKC’s defense looks solid

jdkus11

I would agree with all of that. Sucks not having Dejan up top. This is where I wish we had someone like Agada to provide an attacking threat. Muñoz hasn’t done anything wrong, he just doesn’t draw players like Joveljic does.

Josh Wallace

SKC should really look to isolate Shapi this half. Lozano isn’t going to come back to defend much and you have to make him work.

jdkus11

We need to be a little quicker in transition. When we finally break the press, we need to go fast with numbers but we keep slowing it down once we pass midfield.

jdkus11

Geez, I can’t believe how close Shapi got. That hurt to watch it bounce off.

Wish I could stay up to finish, but I’m falling asleep. Hoping we can at least hang onto a point tonight.

Josh Wallace

This summer Pulskamp should spend a significant amount of time working on coming for crosses from corners. He has been so great and that is one of the only major weaknesses he has in his game that keep coming up.
