Across State Lines: Sporting KC II 2023 MVP Rosa Joins Feilhaber in Des Moines

Published

on

Next week the 2025 US Open Cup kicks off with Sporting KC II taking on the Des Moines Menace at Children’s Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village. As with their participation in last year’s tournament, Des Moines is bringing in former professional players to fill their roster as most of their primary players are still in college and not released yet to be able to play. Last year the Menace got former Sporting KC player Roger Espinoza to join their team for their game against Union Omaha. This past week Sporting Legend and former Sporting KC II coach, Benny Feilhaber joined up with the Menace for their US Open Cup run. Since that announcement, two more players with KC ties have been added to Des Moines’s roster. One of Feilhaber’s former players, Lucas Rosa has joined on. Rosa, who was SKCII’s MVP in 2023 had played with Des Moines last year in the tournament as well. The other player with KC ties that will be with the Menace is former academy player, Leroy Enzugusi. Enzugusi is a regular with the Menace over the last few years.

Here’s the rest of this week’s update.
