The Waiting Game
You can’t even get a silly season rumor around here anymore.
The Major League Soccer offseason is in full swing with signings & rumors across the league. Luis Suarez is set to join Lionel Messi and Inter Miami. Atlanta United is bringing in veteran Dax McCarty. USMNT keeper Zack Steffen is leaving Manchester City for the Colorado Rapids.
On the Sporting KC front, however, all is silent.

The club is currently working to fill the third Designated Player spot, left open by the departure of Gadi Kinda. Reinforcements are needed on all three lines. With the preseason just a week away, you can’t blame fans for getting a bit antsy.
It’s cold and dark out there, Kansas City. I need something I can hold on to. A guy can’t even get a silly season rumor around here anymore!
I’ll take a story from a sketchy outlet about Ronaldo wanting to leave Saudi Arabia. I need Antoine Griezmann to like a random tweet from Patrick Mahomes. Or maybe a cryptic Instagram story from Gianluca Busio. Just to hold me over.
Of course, a lack of rumors doesn’t actually mean Sporting KC aren’t close to signing anyone. They have plenty of time to bring in new players during this window. Remember, this is still largely the same team that earned 1.71 points per game over the final 24 matches last season.

Pulskamp was called up for Camp Cupcake last year I believe.
As for only playing one USMNT game during that time, I think it’s been hit or miss. Sometimes it’s one, sometimes it’s two games. In the last year or two, it’s definitely been one at least one other time.

I’m hearing that SKC is close to signing a Peruvian winger. Based on some details I suspect it is Percy Liza.
