Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the fourth episode of The Blue Turf for the 2023-24 season. The Comets are 2-0 after beating the St. Louis Ambush 7-2 last Sunday. Another strong performance at home for Kansas City. We discussed the match, the players that stood out, and what the Comets needed to do better.

It was the first match for Chad Vandegriffe as a Comet. He strengthens the back line and that is also discussed.

Up next for the Comets is the Harrisburg Heat. The Heat seem to be an improved team but lost their first match at Utica FC last weekend. It will be a good test for both teams as the league starts to figure out what their identity is and the league can see which teams are the strongest.

A pair of bonus interviews after the normal Blue Turf. First up is head coach Stefan Stokic talking about the first couple of games and what it meant for him to coach his first game. Next is DeBray Hollimon, the defender is in his second season with the Comets. Get to know a little bit about Debray, his father, some interesting food habits, and a bit more.

There have been some feed issues lately and we are working through them. It seems like Spotify is working and iTunes may be working again but you can always listen in through the link below.
