The Kansas City Current (5-9-0, 15 points) are on the road once again, traveling to face Racing Louisville (3-4-7, 16 points). This will be the Current’s third straight game on the road, coming off consecutive wins in the regular season (at Orlando Pride and at Portland Thorns FC) and winning four of their past six matches.

Match Details

When: Friday, July 7
Where: Lynn Family Stadium | Louisville, KY
Time: 7:00 PM CT
Broadcast: Paramount+ & KCMI, 38 the Spot
Radio: KC Current Radio on Kansas City Current app

The Current appear to be working towards turning their 2023 season around, picking up a significant victory last week at Portland, their first ever against the Thorns after a penalty kick goal by Michelle Cooper. The win put them just five points away from 6th place, the spot for the playoffs should the season end soon. With 8 games left in the regular season, every game is incredibly important, especially to gain points to climb up the standings.

In their way stands Racing Louisville, who have won six of their last 10 home games in all NWSL competitions. With a win way from setting a milestone of three consecutive wins at Lynn Family Stadium for the first time in club history, Racing Louisville have won their last two home matches. What’s more, Racing Louisville holds a winning record against the Current, winning five of its nine matches against Kansas City in all NWSL competitions, including the last three in a row. Both the five wins and three-match winning streak are Louisville’s best against any opponent in the club’s NWSL history.
